Welcome to my site.  I am a Neag Fellow, doctoral student, and researcher with the New Literacies Research Lab at the University of Connecticut.  Prior to joining the New Literacies Research Team, I taught first grade and high school English and Reading in rural Louisiana and New Haven, Connecticut.  I also have worked on literacy issues with a wide age range of students, from Kindergarten through Master’s level.  My research interests focus on understanding how students read and comprehend disciplinary texts in digital literacies contexts, especially the Internet. I am particularly interested in understanding how students critically evaluate online information in science and the ways in which we can support students through assessment and instruction. I always look forward to meeting others who share my interests and invite you to contact me at any time.
